"The goal is not to change your subjects but for the subject to change the photography"-Author Unknown
Me and Photography I feel alive the minute I pick up my camera. I strive to make portraits of people that truly reflect who they are. Film is better than digital in my book (I know I know, behind the times)! Don't worry I usually use digital but I still love the quality of film. I started my photography career taking self portraits because I found it to be a way for me to understand myself. Since pointing my camera in the other direction (at other people) I find that it has become my way of understanding other people. I went back to school after college because I wanted to learn everything about technique but ended up learning a lot more about myself (Go HIP!). I will never do something until I am 100 percent sure I can pull it off. I enjoy a little humor in my photographs (sometimes I am even a little sarcastic). I love taking images of people in their environments (work, home, park). My style is simple, elegant and expressive (at least in my head). My images have been called quirky in the past. I take pride in the images I create and will always give it my all to make them amazing!
Me and Life I am obsessed with everything vintage including clothing, jewelry, and of course Marilyn Monroe (I own all of her movies if you ever want to borrow). I have two cats that I love more than most people. I'm more likely to blend in with the wall than stand out. I secretly love the T.V. show Charmed and watch it any time I can on DVD. Beer is better than wine but not as dear to my heart as a good Margarita. Nothing smells better than the first spring drizzle when you can smell the rain in the air. I'm addicted to poetry. At heart I have always been and always will be a romantic. I have been an artist since I won my first contest at the age of nine. I doodle on every piece of free paper I have. My DVD rack has about 500 DVD, 30 of them are mine. I come from a huge family that has been nothing but supportive. I've always believed in fate. I always look forward to meeting new people (even if I am usually nervous). I wrote and re-wrote this bio for four days.
